Staff Accountant
Location: Lake Worth, FL

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Lake Worth, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. Candidates should have experience with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently pursuing a degree will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Generate financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Monitor and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting files.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
- Utilize QuickBooks to record, review, and maintain financial transactions.
- Create, update, and analyze spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist management with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree, Bachelor's degree, or actively pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Experience using QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with month-end close procedures.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in a small to mid-sized business environment.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and sales tax reporting.
